Worship – Children & Youth
Worshipping Together with Children and Youth
Each Sunday, children begin by attending morning worship service. During the first 1/3 of the service, we ask the children to help the minister or speaker open “the Wonderbox,” which contains an object that is related to the day’s sermon. Following the Wonderbox, children are invited to stay in the sanctuary with their congregation, or younger children (typically 4 years old-4th grade) can choose to transition downstairs for Cooperative Play if they are signed in and have their nametags on.
High School students are encouraged to stay for the entire service with the adults but are warmly welcomed to join the younger kids downstairs to serve as Youth Leaders.
Multi-generational Services
Throughout the year we also offer Multi-generational Services, which is an opportunity for children, youth and adults to worship together. These services are designed to engage the mind, body, heart and spirit of all ages! The Multi-generational Services will be announced in the weekly e-newsletter, In the Know, as well as in nUUSweek, the weekly newsletter. They are truly a time for all ages!
Children’s Choir (for ages 6+)
Children’s Choir performs a few times throughout the year during the worship service. It is for ages 6 through 13 years old. High School students are welcome to join to help lead or do an occasional solo.
