UUCA Grants for Black, Indigenous, or Person of Color Led Community Organizations Available
The Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis (UUCA) Endowment has funds available to support one or more Black, Indigenous, or Person of Color led community organizations that have a vision to strengthen and support community members in their efforts to move forward. We are looking to work with an organization that has demonstrated community commitment and fundraising efforts. Additionally, we seek a project(s) that uphold our UU principles and particularly our commitment to creating a Beloved Community by working to dismantle racism and other oppressions.
Organizations or individuals may apply for a grant of up to $15,000.
To apply for a grant from the Endowment Committee please provide the following information in writing:
- A page showing the proposal title, the name, address, phone number, and email address of the person responsible for the proposal, the date, and the amount requested.
- A description of the proposed activity and how funds will be used, the expected results, and a timeline for the project.
- Describe how the success or progress of the project will be measured.
- Describe how the project upholds UUCA’s 8th principle to accountably dismantle racism and other oppressions in ourselves and our institutions.
- If your project is ongoing, describe how it will be funded.
Attach a resume or similar document indicating the qualifications of those receiving grant funds that demonstrate the ability to carry out the proposed activity. Also provide three references, with phone numbers and email addresses, of individuals who can attest to the capabilities of the proposed grantee.
An oral presentation to the Endowment Committee or a written report is expected within one month of the completion of the project.
The deadline for completed proposals is August 31, 2023. All proposals may be submitted electronically to endowment@uuannapolis.org.
