Join Revs. Anastassia and Rob Hardies

on a Walking Pilgrimage

along the Camino de Santiago

September 13-21, 2022

Join Revs. Anastassia and Rob Hardies in September 2022 for a walking pilgrimage in Spain. Together we will walk the final 100 km of the Camino de Santiago, a route trod by pilgrims and seekers since the Middle Ages. Our journey begins in the Galician town of Sarria and culminates in Santiago de Compostela, one of the most significant pilgrimage destinations in the West.

Walking pilgrimage is a spiritual practice that connects us to the Earth, to one another, and to our own souls. As we journey through the beautiful Spanish countryside, we also explore the inner landscape of our hearts and souls with the help of daily readings, questions, spiritual practices, and group reflection every evening before dinner. Pilgrimage is a spiritual practice well-suited to those who find themselves at an inflection point in their lives and who wish to explore where’s life journey may lead them next.

Rev. Anastassia will lead the pilgrimage with her colleague the Rev. Rob Hardies, who has led UU congregations on pilgrimages for nearly twenty years, traveling to locations on three continents.

If you think you might be interested in joining us on this pilgrimage (no commitment yet!), please let us know by sending a quick note to Rev. Hardies at rhardies@gmail.com.

Some information that we need for the reservation is:

  • Name & Date of Birth
  • Room type: two twins (with a roommate), double (for a couple) or a single room to yourself (for which there is single supplement)
  • Full name of your roommate?
  • Any special dietary needs?

The deadline to commit to the trip with a non-refundable deposit of $400 is November 9, 2021.

The estimated price for the pilgrimage is $1500. This amount could fluctuate some due to the final number of participants, changes to our itinerary, and fluctuating currency rates. The price includes the following:

  • An eight-day, eight-night walking pilgrimage along the Camino de Santiago, from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela.
  • Accommodation for eight nights with private bath-room & breakfast each day.
  • Dinner on six nights (not including nights in Santiago).
  • Door-to-door daily luggage transfer (1 item per person up to 20kg), so we can walk with only day packs.
  • Transfers to/from the Santiago de Compostela Airport and the first/last hotels.
  • Pilgrim passport used to claim your Compostela credential in Santiago
  • Walking map including local information.
  • Two guides (Revs. Anastassia and Rob) who will accompany our group every step of the journey, guiding our spiritual reflections and coordinating logistics.
  • Several sessions of spiritual (and physical!) preparation before the pilgrimage, including practice walks, setting our personal intentions for the journey, and background reading on the practice of pilgrimage.
  • Daily reflection questions, readings, and practices to spiritually focus each day of our pilgrimage.
  • Group reflection/sharing time facilitated by the ministers every evening before dinner.

What the price does NOT include:

  • Your cost of travel (including airfare and transfers) to the beginning of the pilgrimage and back from the end of it.
  • Lunches and two dinners on your own.
  • Incidentals.
