Inquirers Classes
Many folks come to UUCA with a host of questions ranging from “What is Unitarian Universalism” to what “programs do you have for our children?” Our Inquirers Series is designed to help answer all these questions in more depth.
The Inquirers series was developed out by the First Unitarian Church in Dallas Faith Forward program and is now used in various congregations nationwide.
There are a total of 8 classes that happen consecutively year round. You may attend any class at anytime; it’s not necessary to take them in sequence.
In order to become a member, one must take 6 out of the 8 classes. The following are the list of classes in order. Required courses for membership have been marked with an *.
- Minister Q&A
- Principles & Sources*
- Campus Tour
- Religious Exploration
- UU History
- Social Justice/Racial Justice
- Pastoral Care and Small Groups
- Membership 101*
We highly recommend those who are on the track for membership take one of the Building Beloved Community 8th principle classes on how to learn the skills needed to dismantling racism and oppression. This is one of UUCA’s foundational commitments.
Whether you are a first time visitor or have been a member of the church for years, you are welcome to attend any and all of the session. During the times that UUCA offers two services, 9:00 am and 11:15 am, classes take place at 10:10 am in the Library or via Zoom between our two services. Whenever we only have one service, we have just one worship service at 10:00 am. Inquirers Classes begin at 11:15 am after the service in the Library or via Zoom. Childcare is available for all Inquirers Classes.
