Meet Top Candidates for Governor, Attorney General, and Comptroller
Sunday, June 12, 5:30 -7 pm, and Thursday, June 23, 7 – 8:30 pm
UUCA members are invited to attend a non-partisan event featuring candidates for Governor, Attorney General and Comptroller. Two events are scheduled to be held by PATH (People Acting Together in Howard), AIM (sister organization in Montgomery County) and ACT (sister organization in Anne Arundel County), which together include 75 Christian, Jewish and Muslim faith congregations. UUCA is a member of ACT.
The dates are Sunday, June 12 at 5:30pm at First Baptist of Guilford in Columbia, and Thursday, June 23 at 7:00pm at the Ark and Dove Presbyterian Church in Odenton. These will be in-person and Zoom. We have asked all of the statewide candidates (Democrat and Republican) to each come to one of the two events. The top candidates already confirmed their attendance.
Each event will start with brief, personal stories from members of our congregations who will speak to what gets in the way of them and their family thriving. We will then break into groups to have a more in-depth, moderated conversation with one candidate at a time around the issues of education, affordable housing, transportation, the environment and addressing the racial wealth gap. Join us! RSVP here.
