Bringing Light into a Dark Place
Candy Clark, UUCA member, has worked to do Prison Reform legislation and is asking our youth and families to create a happy holiday picture for the women in our Maryland Womens’ Prison in Jessup.
Details:
- Write a holiday greeting to the ladies and staff of MCI-W. This is NOT an opportunity to send holiday cards as several prisons are reporting that cards have become a conduit for contraband.
- Needing letters on 8 1/2 x 11 decorative paper. Please note that the decorations can NOT include glitter, glue, stickers, etc. The letter is to be an uplifting message of hope, peace, and joy.
- The hope is for our church, along with others, to send at least 540 original letters for the ladies and 250 letters for the staff to Warden Chippendale for distribution on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
- No need for envelopes.
Please get out your best pens and paper and warmest wishes and write letters.
