UUA GA 2022 Learn More
By Heather Millar
General Assembly 2022 is being held in person in Portland, Oregon, and virtually from June 22 through June 26. Attendees learn more about Unitarian Universalism and participate in workshops covering a wide range of topics. There are also opportunities to gather with identity groups and special interests. These are just a few: Youth at GA, Humanist Association, Buddhist Fellowship, and UUs for Economic Justice. Plan to attend a virtual After Hour this Sunday, June 19, to learn more about GA. Use this Zoom link.
At three of the General Sessions, Article 2 will be discussed. This is important for all UUs and those interested in Unitarian Universalism because Article 2 of the Unitarian Universalists Association (UUA) includes our Principles and Sources. During an earlier General Assembly (GA), the delegates voted to examine Article 2. The Article 2 Study Commission was established to lead this effort and they have done extensive work to date reaching out to a variety of groups and individuals.
The Commission continues to reach out and you are encouraged to participate. They have held several “Office Hours” via Zoom to provide background on Article 2 and the work of the Commission and then to hear from attendees. One more is scheduled for this coming Saturday, June 18, at 4:00 EDT. It is open to all, but attendees must register in advance. Use this Zoom link to register.
Once you register, you will receive an email containing the information you will need to join the meeting. I went to an earlier “Office Hours” session and found it extremely informative and energizing.

I hope you take advantage of these opportunities to learn more about GA and that you will consider attending GA.
