Please join us and UU’s around the state on Saturday, January 21 from 8:30 am – 1:00 pm, as we get ready for the upcoming legislative session. Learn about legislation our Issue Teams and coalition partners are working on and how you can be an advocate, too. With a new State Senate, House, and Executive Branch, this legislative session dawns with many possibilities!
This year the kick off will be hybrid, with members having the option to participate via Zoom or in person at the UU Church of Annapolis at 333 Dubois Rd. Doors (and screens) will open at 8:30 am for networking. The program will begin at 9 am and is scheduled to go until 1 pm.
If you are passionate about the Climate, Criminal Justice Reform, Preventing Gun Violence, Immigration Reform, Medical Aid in Dying, Health Care Reform, or Reproductive Rights come join us, and let’s create a Maryland that honors our UU Values.
Keynote Speaker: Delegate Eric Luedtke
UULM-MD is pleased to announce that Delegate Eric Luedtke will be our Keynote Speaker at the 2023 UULM-MD Kick Off on January 21st! Who better to help us understand the legislative landscape than the man recently recruited by Governor-Elect Wes Moore to serve as his Chief Legislative Officer?
A former teacher, Delegate Luedtke has been a fierce ally on Marriage Equality, Climate Change, and many of our issues. Delegate Luedtke has represented Montgomery County’s District 14 for twelve years and is currently serving as the Majority Leader of the Maryland House of Delegates.
